The country is a Federal presidential representative republic, where the president is both the head of state and the head of government. The Palace of the Argentine National Congress in Buenos Aires is the seat of the Argentine National Congress.
Argentina has several different climates. The northern region has a subtropical climate, and a subantarctic climate in the south. Central and eastern Argentina have a temperate climate. The Andes dominate Argentina’s western border, although most of the country’s interior region is flat. Some of the longest rivers in the country include the Paraná River, the Uruguay River, and the Negro River.
The provinces of Mendoza, San Juan, and La Rioja are famous for their wine-making regions. Thanks to the country’s high altitude and low humidity, Argentina’s vineyards aren’t greatly affected by insects, fungi, or grape diseases. The various grape varieties in Argentina were brought to the country by its many immigration groups. The Spanish first bought vines in the 16th century and cultivated them throughout the country. French immigrants brought Malbec grapes, which produce some of Argentina’s most popular wines, and Italians bought Bonarda vines.
