Andorra is located in the eastern Pyrenees Mountains, which means that most of its topography consists of rugged mountains and narrow valleys. This makes it a popular tourist destination with skiers, snowboarders, and mountain climbers. Andorra’s average elevation is 2000 meters, and its highest point is Coma Pedrosa, at 2,942 meters (9,652 feet).Β

The climate of Andorra varies according to the altitude, and it has a diversity of microclimates due to its geography. Generally, though, it can be described as temperate with cold, snowy winters and warm, dry summers. From mid-winter to early summer, the country is prone to avalanches. Landslides and earthquakes are two other natural disasters that Andorra is at risk from.

Andorra is a parliamentary democracy co-governed by two princes. One is the Bishop of Urgell from Spain, and the other is the President of France.
